Rosario Islands Day Tour to Pirate Island
Discover Pirate Island in the beautiful Rosario Islands near Cartagena. Snorkel coral reefs, see colorful marine life, and enjoy a relaxing Caribbean island lunch.
Begin your day at the dock of Muelle de la Bodeguita, where you’ll receive a warm welcome and a quick briefing before embarking on your Caribbean adventure. Take a moment to prepare—apply sunscreen, stay hydrated, and get ready for a relaxing day exploring one of the most beautiful islands near Cartagena.
As we depart the harbor, enjoy the refreshing Caribbean breeze and admire the scenic coastline while heading toward the stunning Rosario Islands. Along the way, you’ll pass historic landmarks such as Fuerte San Fernando de Bocachica and the island of Tierra Bomba, places that played an important role in protecting Cartagena during the colonial era.
After about an hour by boat, you’ll arrive at Pirate Island, a small tropical island located inside the protected marine environment of the Rosario Islands. Surrounded by turquoise waters and natural coral reefs, this peaceful island retreat offers the perfect setting to disconnect from the city and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Caribbean.
Pirate Island is known for its crystal-clear natural pools and calm waters, ideal for swimming and snorkeling directly around the island. The surrounding coral reef ecosystem supports a rich variety of marine life, making it an excellent place to observe colorful fish and explore the underwater world that makes the Rosario Islands one of Colombia’s most important marine environments.
During your time on the island, you can relax on sunbeds by the water, snorkel around the reef, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere beneath the shade of coconut palms. When it’s time for lunch, savor a delicious traditional Caribbean meal prepared by locals, typically featuring fresh fish or chicken served with coconut rice, plantains, and salad.
After a refreshing swim in the warm Caribbean waters, take some time to relax, enjoy the scenery, and capture memorable photos of this tropical paradise before returning to Cartagena in the afternoon.
This day trip is perfect for travelers looking to combine relaxation, snorkeling, and the natural beauty of the Caribbean in a single unforgettable experience in the Rosario Islands.
