Pance Trail Hike – Waterfalls, Wildlife & Nature Near Cali
Start your adventure with a 9km hike through the scenic Farallones de Cali, offering breathtaking views and rich biodiversity. Afterward, cool off with a swim in the crystal-clear waters of Río Pance, a tranquil oasis just outside Cali.
Get ready for an immersive 9 km adventure that begins in Pueblo Pance, the last town before entering Farallones de Cali National Natural Park, and leads you into one of Colombia’s richest biodiversity hotspots. From the very first steps, you’ll hike through dense tropical jungle, home to a vast array of plants and animals, many of them endemic and of high ecological importance. Our knowledgeable guides will point out fascinating facts about the flora and fauna, helping you understand the forest’s hidden wonders.
As you ascend, the trail winds past crystal-clear mountain streams, flowing from the peaks above, while towering trees, mosses, and ferns create a canopy that filters sunlight, making the jungle feel alive with sound and movement. You’ll feel completely immersed in nature as birdsong, flowing water, and the rustle of wildlife accompany every step.
Higher up, the forest transforms into cloud forest, revealing breathtaking panoramic views. On clear days, you’ll see Pico Pance, one of Cali’s highest peaks, and Pico de Loro, a dramatic mountain that draws hikers from all over. The trail is dotted with majestic native trees, and distant waterfalls often appear through the mist, adding to the sense of discovery.
As we begin the descent, the forest opens to sweeping views of Cali below, with the gentle murmur of the Río Pance guiding you back. If conditions allow, you’ll have the chance to swim in its cool, refreshing waters, a perfect reward after an unforgettable day in the mountains. This hike combines adventure, learning, and total immersion in Colombia’s natural beauty, making it a truly memorable experience for every nature lover.
